Custom paintings are purchased upfront with the understanding that they are only 50% refundable on a case-by-case basis. The return policy for commissions is different from our normal policy because the artist must be compensated for the time and materials put into creating the custom piece. In many cases, it is very hard to resell a commissioned work, since the artist is creating the piece just for you.
In order to mitigate the issue, the artist and buyer are put in contact via email after the commission is purchased. This monitored thread allows both parties to discuss specifications and collaborate on the work. The artist is expected to provide progress photos and a final photo for the buyer's approval prior to shipping. The artist receives payment 3 days after delivery.
